Odell Grade School Students Raise Funds For Christmas Angels
December 14, 2011
Odell Grade School students have been busy collecting money for the Christmas Angels organization in Odell. The Pre-K through 8th grade students had a "change wars" competition. Each classroom competed to collect the most coins to donate to the organization. The second, fourth, and sixth grade classes tied for the most change collected. These classes won a pizza party for their class.
In addition to the "change wars", a raffle was held to collect money. Raffle tickets were sold to students. The winner of the raffle was able to take their favorite staff member to lunch. Abby Matern won the raffle and will be taking Mrs. Flynn to lunch.
The Christmas Angels is an organization which provides winter clothes to children in the Odell Library District. Toys are also distributed by this organization from the Toys For Tots group.
